Mr.Fastfinger joins forces with GuitarBots

Cartoon guitarist Mr.Fastfinger joins forces with GuitarBots, the social online guitar game played with a real guitar. Collaboration of guitarist Mika Tyyskä (aka Mr. Fastfinger) and game company Ovelin resulted as a Mr. Fastfinger song content package on GuitarBots. This new package release presents new, challenging level for more advanced guitarists.

Tandem of music release and a game experience for guitarists

Collaboration of the game company and artist introduces a new way of releasing music. 
The game enviroment of GuitarBots opens a novel way of interacting the song content, making the experience more personal.

The mode exploration.
I wanted to create a set of jams that are enjoyable to jam along. Nothing too difficult, but rather something that is inspirational for the leads in everypossible way. I also decided to focus on the major scale modes. You will find each track always focusing one main mode. But there’s always more than one mode applied in each jam. Master the modes, as Mr. Fastfinger would say here!

The guitar solos were played in Mr. Fastfinger style ofcourse. There’s plenty of melodies, cool licks, riffs, exposions, rhythmic playfulness, chase scenes, mystical feelings, emotions, fun and all sort of technical challenges for you to check out and study!

Mika joins Bendnote

Mika is proud to enter Bendnote.com as a new artist. Last summer Mika shot some improvisations and lessons for new Bendnote.com. Here’s the first one now online: “Lydian Feeling”. Workshop tour in Germany / MMS

Der finnische Ausnahmegitarrist Mika Tyyskä wurde bekannt durch seine Animationsfigur Mr. Fastfinger. Während der Cartoon-Gitarrist ausschließlich im Internet und auf Bildschirmen aktiv ist, kommt der “echte” Mr. Fastfinger nun für einige exklusive Workshops nach Deutschland. Motion Beat premiere – Mr. Fastfinger do the rap!

Enter the beat! This is not for the faint at heart. It's a clip of Mr. Fastfinger Band premiering the song Motion Beat from the next album.
More of a light hearted song. Perhapas not really representing the new material of the following album in best way. But it's a fun number.
This is basically the beginning of the song with Thomas doing a cool drum number as extra live intro. The actual chorus is cut out totally. And so are many other parts as well. Don't want to put the full song out because
a) This was our first attempt to do this live and we still need to practice this track more to get it tighter
b) Don't want to reveal it complitely yet. Something to left to surpise you when the album comes out.

Some people won't believe the solo was played in real time on that video (the footage looks a bit fastforwarded because i was so much in motion with the playing) so here it is played live with the band in front of an audience. It's not perfectly exactly tight played but this is rock and roll. Or atleast rocking dance music.

Oh and that guitar tone comes from that new Hughes & Kettner baby Tubemeister. The head alone weights 5 kg, but it really, really burns!
